In 2017, Kumu Kanoelani’s own Kumu Hula, Leimomi I Maldonado (Aunty Lei) was honored at the Prince Lot Hula Festival at the ʻIolani Palace and Kumu Kanoe was invited back to dance in the line with her hula sisters and aunties. One of the classic hula that chose to include in her program was the famous mele, “Ke Aloha” as performed by Natalie Ai Kamauu. After the success of last month’s session, we are very excited to offer a series of ZOOM hula classes as well as a One-Day workshop format where we will teach this hula, as choreographed by Aunty Leimomi Maldonado.
